Prof. Dr. Dennis A. Ostwald is the founder and CEO of WifOR Institute. His vision is to drive sustainable economic and societal development based on reliable, scientific data. He advocates for a world where health-related spending is not seen as a cost factor but as an investment. Through his studies, Prof. Ostwald aims to make the importance of health innovations visible and enable evidence-based decision making for a healthy society. He conducts research on topics such as health economics, the value of impacts, and international social policy – constantly striving to make data measurable, standardizable and comparable.

Prof. Ostwald studied Industrial Engineering and Management at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany and received his PhD from the Chair of Finance and Economic Policy, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Bert Rürup, on the topic “Growth and employment effects of the healthcare industry”. During his work as a research assistant and PhD student, Prof. Ostwald held teaching positions in the fields of economics and economic and financial policy and was also involved in projects for various federal and state ministries and associations. A
s Professor of Economic Research and International Management at the Steinbeis School of International Business and Entrepreneurship (SIBE), he wants to develop young talents into responsible managers who understand the interplay between social, environmental and economic sustainability.
