Dr. Sandra Zimmermann

Head of International Social Policy

Author, lecturer, expert for labor market research and the health economy: Dr. Sandra Zimmermann is head of International Social Policy at WifOR Institute and part of the leadership team.

Dr. Sandra Zimmermann has more than ten years of experience in applied economic and social research and is a strong advocate for a progressive, healthy, and innovative society. Her research focuses on macroeconomic labor markets, social policy, the health and care economy as well as the impact of digitalization on the national economy. She is committed to translating the scientific findings of her projects into concrete recommendations for action. Alongside her International Social Policy team, Dr. Zimmermann is responsible for a large number of projects for various players in the public sector and the private sector.

Dr. Sandra Zimmermann is a member of the German Association for Social Policy Research (VfS) and the German Association for Social Science Labor Market Research (SAMF). She studied in Würzburg and wrote her doctoral thesis on the impact of non-market activities on material well-being and income distribution in Germany. She was born in Bamberg in 1983 and lives in Darmstadt.
